Marguerite's Kitchen: A Benefit for Light Industry

Light Industry is having some friends over for dinner, and we’d love for you to come. The evening, hosted by the inimitable cookbook shop Archestratus and orchestrated by chef Paige Lipari, is a simple affair, featuring a menu drawn entirely from Marguerite Duras’s personal recipes. Proceeds from the event will support Light Industry’s future programs, but we’ve decided to forego the usual trappings of the fundraising gala—just a nice meal and good company.

“Do you want to know why I cook?,” Duras once asked. “Because I enjoy it very much...It’s the antipode of writing, but somehow we’re in the same solitude when we cook, and the same inventiveness.”
